Popular Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has given her two cents about one of the challenges women face after divorcing their partners.

The mother of three made a post about change of name for women and why they should not be forced to do it if their marriages do not work out.

According to her, most women work hard over the years to build the name with their husbands, so it would not be fair to ask them to drop it suddenly after years of toil and hard work. She said it is like stealing their copyrights from them.

Mary Njoku says mothers should be allowed to change names of their kids

In her post, she noted that if a woman must change her name, she should be allowed to change the names of her children as well.

Njoku added that change of names should be optional for women.

Her post came after one of her colleagues, Yul Edochie, challenged his estranged first wife, May, for still holding onto his name even after she had filed for divorce.

Mary Njoku earlier gave her opinion about some of the challenges people face in their relationships and marriages.

She once spoke about men and their cheating habits and added that pastors should not be exempted.

Moji Sesan Aina says women should not be forced to change their names after divorce

In a chat with Legit.ng Moji Sesan Aina said that women can retain their names after divorce.

She said:

"I honestly think it’s unnecessary to change names one has built over the years. Such a person would have done everything to establish her name for years. I don't think it is fair for divorce to take it off. However, my opinion will differ if the said person is ready to remarry."

Mary Njoku laments buying pain relief for N8,700

Legit.ng earlier reported that the actress showed how frustrating it was to purchase pain relief for N8,700.

She posted a picture of the medicine on her page and begged people not to disturb her again because the cost of taking care of her headache was on the high side.

The actress warned her fans that the stress was expensive and advised them not to allow anyone stress them again.
